Why was the data set created?

The SB boundaries provide a common geographic system for the compilation of statistical data. Statistical data from the population census/by-census are produced using this basic system. Data requirements of different users can be met by converting data recorded on the basis of SB into the users' geographic system for their planning and operational purpose.

How was the data set created?

  1. From what previous works were the data drawn?

    None (source 1 of 1)

    Type_of_Source_Media: paper
    Source_Scale_Denominator: 5000 to 20000
    Source_Contribution: Spatial and attribute information

  2. How were the data generated, processed, and modified?

    Date: 2011 (process 1 of 2)
    Digitizing

    Date: 2011 (process 2 of 2)
Convert data dgn format to ESRI shapefile format

  3. What similar or related data should the user be aware of?

Planning Department, the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, 2011, Tertiary Planning Unit: Planning Department, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

How reliable are the data; what problems remain in the data set?

  1. How well have the observations been checked?

Attribute accuracy is checked by manual comparsion of the source with the hard copy print-out. The attributes items are also confined by the item definition and pre-defined feature type.

  2. How accurate are the geographic locations?

  3. How accurate are the heights or depths?

  4. Where are the gaps in the data? What is missing?

No omission, selection and generalization is done.

  5. How consistent are the relationships among the observations, including topology?

    Polygon topology present.

How can someone get a copy of the data set?
